I try to keep my classroom as project based as possible. In addition, I am lucky to have a principle and PTO that supports many field trips to bring what we study to life.
Engaging Learning Environment I like to have many projects going too. We don't get to take as many trips unless we walk. I find the best way to engage the learners is through cooking. Our kitchen staff is great about letting me use the ovens. But I end up bringing so many tools from home that I look like a moving van:) Deb
Engaging Learning Environment I try to change activities every five minutes or so. I also do lots of S'Cool Moves in transition times. When we walk from one area of the room to the next the students will cross-crawl or when we have to wait in line we do the "nosey switch" (put one hand on your opposite ear and one on your nose, then you switch). Using the SMART Board and having students use the board keeps their attention.
